Introduce yourself! Mellie @thegirlwhocanteat
How do you express yourself creatively?
I model, do public speaking and also love to write and draw
Describe an insecurity that you had while growing up. Has your perspective changed? If so, how did you overcome this insecurity?
At the age of 13 I started having issues eating as I have a “Gastroparesis” paralysis of the stomach. This required me to need feeding-tubes and for a long time I was insecure of the way it looked and how people stared. When making a post a few years back I received a response that blew me away messages from others feeling the same and so I decided to start modeling and advocating for those who need any sort of medical device to survive in a way to restore my confidence as well as to help others to be able to love them self just the way they are.
Define Beauty
To me beauty is something that shines from within, makeup and getting glam is fun but what I find the most beautiful is the ability of acceptance of yourself and seeing that different is beautiful.
How would you describe your skin-type? Normal/dry/sensitive
How do you combat your personal skincare problems? Hydration, cleansing but not stripping and simple nontoxic products (also a good mask and exfoliant does wonders)
What are some of your skincare beauty secrets? I’m sure we have all said it but stay hydrated and remember the importance of what is going on inside your body has on your skin
2 do’s for skincare? Always wash makeup off + less is more
2 don’ts for skincare? Don’t use too harsh of products that strip the skin and be mindful of the ingredients in skincare.
How do you practice self-care? Skincare is my favorite form of self-care by far, it’s nice to just be able to mask and honestly is so healing to me!
