Introduce yourself!

Hey y'all! I'm Evelyn, a digital storyteller and sweet tea drinker based in Austin, Texas. Add influencer if you wanna send me free serum. *wink wink*

How do you express yourself creatively?

Whether it's a video or a written piece, I tell stories and make myself laugh (and hopefully others giggle along). I post my videos on YouTube!

Describe an insecurity that you had while growing up. Has your perspective changed? If so, how did you overcome this insecurity?

Oh gosh, I was part of eczema gang. DISRESPECTFULLY. DRY. PATCHES. Sometimes I'd have a flare up on my face - I was so self conscious. I spent so much time trying to hide things and I now I think I'd just be more chill about it. Like, if you're not writing me a prescription for some heavy duty cream, I'm not concerned with your opinion of me! Boop!

Define Beauty

Beauty is feeling completely alive. Being an active participant in your life and fully engaging with your world. Sounds real Super Soul Sunday, but it's how I feel!

How would you describe your skin-type? The type that people think has a "glow", but in reality it's oily with light perspiration at all times. I never struggled with hormonal acne and my eczema has calmed down a lot since my childhood. Amen!

How do you combat your personal skincare problems?

I use vitamin c serums as a spot treatment to fade scars from Period (And Pizza) Pimples.

What are some of your skincare beauty secrets?

Essences are surprisingly not "basically face water". They really keep my skin hydrated and juicy. They're not a substitute for hydrating your actual body, but they make me feel so refreshed!

2 do’s for skincare?

1) I'd say drink water because spending money on products to "plump" your skin is a trap.

2) Get plump from within, nawwmsayin? Monitor how food effects your skin!

2 don’ts for skincare?

1) My biggest advice would be don't sleep with makeup on. Just don't. Ever. There will never ever be a time where you won't regret it.

2) Do not switch up your products too much. You'll never be able to pinpoint what may be causing irritation or helping you out.

What motivates you to practice self-care consistently?

The older I've gotten, the more I've realized that I am the only one responsible for myself. It's literally no one else's job to keep me around but my own. Everybody else is either helping or following my lead.

What city/country do you represent? Austin, TX
