#inMySkin - Anderky Santos

Introduce yourself!

Hello, beautiful ones! My name is Anderky Santos. I am a Dominican born, 25-year-old content creator and Instagram blogger, residing outside of Boston. I really love learning new languages, world cultures and how the food I eat can help my body stay healthy.

How do you express yourself creatively?

Photography is an art form I’ve grown to utterly delight in this year. I also love to write poetry and I draw; horribly, but it gives me so much peace to do so.

Describe an insecurity that you had while growing up. Has your perspective changed? If so, how did you overcome this insecurity?

That I wasn’t pretty enough. (Laughing out loud about that now). I disliked how dull my face looked growing up. I rarely smiled in pictures because I thought I looked ugly in them anyways. But I thank God that I just learned to smile. When I decided to be joyous no matter what that’s when I realize that I wasn’t ugly. I just wasn’t loving myself as I should. There’s so much beauty in smiles. I’ve learned to not underestimate them. *Smile, gorgeous. You’re gorgeous. And don’t you dare forget it.

Define Beauty

Beauty is confidence in self and celebrating oneself. I think the most good-looking man and woman is the one that who knows how uniquely beautiful they are.

How would you describe your skin-type?

My skin gets very dry during the fall and winter season. I would need thick moisturizers to keep my skin smooth. And during the summer time my skin is heavenly. I would rarely use lotions and my face stays glowing.

How do you combat your personal skincare problems?
I make sure that my skin is clean. That’s my first step. If I start getting pimples or my face looks dead it’s because I didn’t keep my skin clean throughout the day.

What are some of your skincare beauty secrets? Coconut oil, my face loves it! My friends say it works for everything. That’s what I apply on my face after washing it. I wake up with my face glowing. Can’t get enough.

2 do’s for skincare?

1) Find a routine that works for your skin. It will take time but it’s worthy it. 2) Invest in good products. You’re skin will thank you.

2 don’ts for skincare?

1) Don’t underestimate the power of a good night’s sleep. 2) Don’t underestimate the power of good foods. They help your skin rejuvenate and eating well will give you so much energy for the day.

What motivates you to practice self-care consistently?

I love taking care of myself. I aspire for beauty with makeup. It’s freeing.

What city/country do you represent?

United States & Dominican Republic
